CADS Ontario recently received a grant from
the Ontario Government under its Communities
in Action Fund. This grant of $15,372 will
provide training to volunteer instructors
and will help to expand the CADS Adaptive
Ski Program in six ski resorts in Central
and Western Ontario .
“The Canadian Association for Disabled
Skiing is dedicated to assisting individuals
with a disability to lead richer and fuller
lives through active participation in
recreational and competitive snow skiing and
boarding,” said Sharon Leslie, Executive
Director of the Canadian Association of
Disabled Skiing National office. “We focus
on the ability of skiers and not the
disability, within our 43 clubs across
Canada .”
“This grant will allow our organization to
purchase new equipment and train instructors
to expand our disabled ski program and allow
more children and adults with a disability
to enjoy a winter activity within a safe
environment,” added Ian McArdle , President
of the Ontario Division of Canadian
Association for Disabled Skiing.
